Join us for a magical adventure to the cursed castle...

In Semester 2, performers 7-13 will rehearse and perform a production of Beauty & The Beast!

There are a range of funny and entertaining roles in this new play adaptation of the classic fairytale, such as:

  • Belle - a bright and independent young woman who loves books
  • Beast - A prince cursed to live as a monstrous beast until he learns to love and be loved in return.
  • Gaston - a vain and egotistical hunter who wants to marry Belle.
  • Maurice - Belle's eccentric inventor father.
  • Various Enchanted Objects (Formerly Castle Servants)
  • Lumière - The charismatic maître d’ transformed into a candelabra.
  • Cogsworth - The strict but loyal majordomo transformed into a clock.
  • Mrs. Potts - The kind-hearted head housekeeper transformed into a teapot.
  • Chip - Mrs. Potts' young son transformed into a teacup.
  • Plumette (Babette in the animated film) - The castle maid transformed into a feather duster.
  • Madame de Garderobe - The opera singer transformed into a wardrobe (called Wardrobe in the animated film).
  • Lefou - Gaston's bumbling sidekick.
  • Monsieur D'Arque - The sinister asylum owner
  • The Enchantress - The sorceress who curses the Prince

This production will require basic dance and singing, though for the most part it is a play with music (rather than a musical) so most of the focus is on developing acting skills.

Budding Entertainment productions teach drama skills and boost confidence; they are lots of fun and a great way for children and teens to make new friends. Every enrolled performer receives a speaking role and their moment to shine!

This course ends in a public theatre production at Belconnen Theatre on Saturday 14th December, 2024.

Classes run 4pm-5pm (60 minutes) on Sundays.
