“But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?”

This theatre production course runs for two terms (Term 2 & 3) with final performances on Sunday 11th September at Belconnen Theatre.

Budding Entertainment is delighted to relaunch our popular Romeo & Juliet theatre production course for teens. In our abridged version of the play, teens will play some of the most iconic roles ever written for the stage.

There are a range of challenging and exciting parts in Romeo & Juliet as we depict the warring houses of the Montagues and Capulets. From street fights to the romantic balcony scene, this play remains the ultimate tragic story of teen love.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as experienced performers. All performers must be committed to learning lines.

A team of tutors will assign roles based on the performance, teamwork, listening skills and attitude demonstrated in Lessons 1 and 2, as well as the audition performance in Lesson 3, where each teen will deliver a monologue. Monologue options will be provided in class. Scripts and roles will be emailed to parents/guardians between Lesson 3 and Lesson 4.

All performers receive a role and speaking part. Performers are taught to be supportive and kind - to clap loudly for each other and raise each other up. There are no small roles and no diva behaviour is allowed.

Costumes will be provided by the Company (parents will be requested to provide basics such as shoes). Performers will need to do their own hair and makeup prior to arriving for the final show (a guide will be provided via email).
