/

This theatre production course runs for two terms (Terms 3 and 4) with weekly classes on Saturdays in Acton 1pm-2.15pm (occasionally will be extended further as needed), and the final performance on Saturday 13th December in the 350-seat Overture Hall theatre in Weston.

“If music be the food of love, play on.”

Welcome to our advanced production course of Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, directed by Lily Welling - a whirlwind of mistaken identities, unrequited love, quick wit, and unforgettable characters. Designed for advanced teen and young adult performers, this course offers a deep dive into one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies.

Twelfth Night is a fast-paced romantic comedy full of mistaken identities, secret loves, and laugh-out-loud moments. When Viola is shipwrecked and believes her twin brother is dead, she disguises herself as a boy named Cesario and enters the service of Duke Orsino. Orsino sends Cesario to woo the Countess Olivia on his behalf, but Olivia falls for Cesario, not knowing he's actually Viola. Meanwhile, a group of mischievous servants and drunkards play a cruel but hilarious prank on the uptight steward Malvolio. As the chaos builds, identities are revealed, twins are reunited, and love finds its way - just not in the way anyone expected.

With tutor and director Lily Welling, performers will explore the rich emotional complexity and sharp humour of Twelfth Night, developing skills in classical text performance, ensemble acting, and physical comedy.

You’ll unpack Shakespeare’s language, experiment with voice and movement, and collaborate to shape a dynamic and entertaining live performance for a modern audience.
